Two Children with a Cat

From the series In detail

Judith Leyster was a very talented 17th century artist. Unfortunately, only around 20 of her paintings have survived to the present day. Leyster painted Two Children with a Cat in 1629, with assured but spontaneous brushwork. Both children are squealing with laughter, and the elder of the two is mischievously snatching a treat away from the cat in his arm.
