cutting, l 76.2cm More details

These firearms are typically Dutch in that they are functional, slender and sober, yet elegant in design. The rounded lockplates are characteristic of Dutch wheellocks. This early manifestation of ‘Dutch design’ was valued far outside the Netherlands during the 17th century. These two wheellock pistols found their way to Germany, where they were owned by the Counts of Salm-Reifferscheidt- Dyck at Schloss Dyck in Westphalia.
